The Mako Matcha Story
Dear Friends,
We’re Qian & Amy, two college roommates turned best friends, and the founders of Mako Matcha.
Building Mako Matcha together feels like a full circle moment to our Asian American heritage and decade-long friendship, reflected in the circular, harmonious motion of the two mako sharks at the center of our brand.
Mako Matcha, named after Qian’s cat Mako, began in 2024 as a passion project, rooted in a shared love of matcha, a sincere desire to cultivate community, and above all, our friendship.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
With gratitude,
Qian & Amy
The Ritual
Our mission is to cultivate intention and community through the grounding ritual of matcha: a moment where people can create a sense of meaningful connection, not only with others but also with ourselves.
The Matcha
We traveled to Japan, where we visited tea farms, learned about the cultivation of matcha, and thoughtfully sourced the foundation of our specialty drinks: first-harvest, ceremonial matcha.
We remain committed to keeping quality and intention at the center of what we do, continuing to collaborate and connect with our local community, and evolving our menu with new offerings.
Let us be part of your next gathering
Make your next gathering a moment to remember. A beautifully designed mobile matcha bar, curated menu, and thoughtfully crafted drinks brought directly to you for an experience your guests
will enjoy.
